Team MMT announces the arrival of a new member

Dear Rouleurs,

MMT and Mrs. MMT, the team’s Directeur Sportive, have been frantically preparing and then adjusting to the arrival of the team’s newest member, a baby girl. Born in late June, R.R arrived at a civil time in the early evening, weighing 3.3kg, R.R is joy to behold.

R.R is a project rider who be placed in the women’s branch of Team MMT. The only problem being now that the women’s branch of Team MMT out numbers the men’s branch by 3 to 1. Not only that, they are all red heads. MMT wonders what the team grupetto will be like in a few years time.

MMT purchased a small girl’s bike, for the original ninja ginger, A.J. a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the last few week’s weather in Melbourne have bordered on apocalyptic. So there have been few still sunny days to introduce A.J. to joys of riding a bike. This remains a work in progress.

Speaking of works in progress, hopefully when MMT gets back to work, next week he’ll be able to take a more serious approach to this blog. In the meantime, MMT will continue to enjoy the liesurely afternoon viewing of 2019 Tour de France stage replays. Go Richie Porte…its your year.

Until next time ride safe,

Marv

Post-holiday angry rant part 3 – coffee cup thievery

Dear Rouleurs,

This blog will be the 3rd and final instalment of MMT’s angry rant series.  MMT can’t possibly maintain the rage for longer than a week, well not without really hurting someone 😉  So this angry rant is dedicated to the dickhead who nicked my Sttoke reusable coffee cup at work. For those of you that are unfamiliar with this astonishingly good and seemingly unbreakable cup, this is what they look like.

To the thief who heisted MMT’s cup – May you, your children and their children be cursed to drink appalling US-style coffee for the rest of their lives.

MMT, replaced his black Sttoke with white one and wrote his fucking name and mobile phone number on it.  May be that will discourage further thievery.

Until next time, ride safe

Post-holiday angry rant part 1 – dump trump

Dear Rouleurs,

MMT has been back 10 days in Melbourne and already the heady days of #Iloveholidays are over.  In his jet-lagged state of foreboding, MMT has taken solace in the ready availability of world-class coffee.  The Spanish seem to relish the taste of UHT long life milk.  MMT wonders if its exclusively used in cafes in that country.  In MMT’s opinion, using that kind of milk makes coffee undrinkable. Yup, MMT is a coffee snob and bike snob 😉

So on his way to a near by coffee shop, MMT spied this horrible sight.  MMT had to look twice to sense-check his reality.  After all, who in their right mind, in Australia, would have a bumper sticker supporting the current American President. I’ve left the licence plate in the photo as a form of ‘name and shame’.

MMT very nearly keyed this car out of spite and protest.  The only thing holding back that act of protest/vandalism was the thought that just may be this was some weird, deeply ironic joke.  Either way, MMT was very, very conflicted at the sight of something so idiotic. Its not like Australia has a shortage of political idiots.  One only has to look at the most recent coup d’etat against the previous PM Malcolm Turnbull, to see how many of them are present in the Australian Liberal Party.

MMT digresses, the coffee was good and MMT was able to re-direct his rage to this blog.

Until next time ride safe.

Time to build an Ark??

Dear Rouleurs,

MTT was walking past one his workplace’s TVs when he noticed Emergency Services putting out a state wide warning for Victoria, for the next three days.  A quick search of BOM revealed the following:

Significant and widespread flooding is likely across most of Victoria from Friday onwards.

A large high pressure system near New Zealand continues to direct a hot and humid northeasterly airstream over Victoria. A trough of low pressure crossing the Bight will reach western Victoria late today then become slow moving. A low pressure system will develop on the trough over northwestern Victoria on Friday then drift slowly southeastwards over the weekend.

Heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms are likely to develop in the far west during Thursday night into Friday before extending across the remaining parts of the State during Friday. The heavy rain and thunderstorm activity will continue on Saturday and Sunday.

Three day totals of around 100-200 mm are expected across most of northern and central regions of the State. Elsewhere totals are likely to be between 30 and 100 mm. The highest totals are expected over the northeast ranges, where three day totals may exceed 250 mm.

GOOD LORD…Is this really how summer is going to start?? The synoptic charts are spectacular.

I’m guessing that I won’t be doing too much riding on the weekend…boo 🙁

Until ride safe, avoiding ridiculous thunder storms and floods.
